The Red Foxes' boys' tennis team improved its season record to 6-3 after a 5-1 victory over Wilson Tuesday afternoon at Byerly Park.
Steven Arthur led the Foxes at the number one singles spot. He took the only loss of the afternoon for the Foxes as he fell 6-0, 6-1 to Wilson's Tim Jiang.
In the number two singles slot, Noah Stanley bested Wilson's Andy Barnes 6-3, 6-3. George Atkins continued his strong play for Hartsville by defeating Annand Chokski 6-3, 6-2 in the number three singles match.
In the number four match, Zach Grooms blanked Ben Lie of Wilson 6-0, 6-0, and Rod Russell gave Hartsville another point as he defeated Ravi Bajaj 6-4, 6-2 in the number five singles match.
Hartsville's Hanson Kirk and Cody Johnson teamed up for another number two doubles win cruising to a 6-4, 6-2 win over Blake Palles and Daunte Fercana.
The Foxes faced Darlington Thursday afternoon. They will take some time off for spring break before getting back into action against West Florence on Tuesday, April 21. The game is in Florence and will begin at 5 p.m.
