DARLINGTON – On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Trinity Collegiate School hosted the largest cross-country invitational for SCISA schools in this area.
Trinity claimed victory against the other 11 2A and 3A schools. “I am extremely proud of my team,” said coach Cindy Scannella. “Every Trinity Collegiate School runner ran a personal best during this race.”
The Trinity boys’ varsity team ranked first of the 11 teams. The junior varsity boys placed third. Seven runners placed in the top 11 spots, including Zach Fuller, who met the school record of 18:39.
This was the first time this season that the Trinity girls competed as a complete team. They finished second out of the 11 schools, including Molly Jones, who led the team with a third-place finish time of 22:47, and Janie Fuller, who finished in the top 10.
Trinity Collegiate School will now begin travelling to other large 3A events and will host the Region One cross-country championship on Oct. 8, at 5 p.m.
