ANDERSON — The Emmanuel Christian volleyball team capped off its season with its first SCACS Class 2A title with a 3-0 (25-14 25-18, 25-14) victory over Conway Christian.
The Crusaders, who went unbeaten in conference play, finished the year 18-2. Emanuel’s last state title came in 2005 when it was in SCACS Class A.
“It was a great season,” Emmanuel coach Billy Smith said. “These are the same girls I coached when they were in sixth grade.”
The Crusaders defeated Oakwood Christian 3-0 )25-14, 25-13, 25-18) to advance to the title match.
