The Lady Panthers of McBee’s tennis team has completed their season with a 4-5 record and will advance to the playoffs on Thursday, Oct. 30.
The team wrapped up the season with a 5-2 loss to the Lady Braves of Cheraw on Monday, Oct. 20.
“I am very proud of what my girls have done this year,” head coach Susan Moore said on Wednesday.
“We have lost a lot of close matches, so I feel that we will only get stronger in the next couple of years.”
Moore said of her top seven players, three are juniors and four are freshman, so she feels as if the team will continue to improve. “I kept 20 players this year, and the girls on the lower part of the ladder are very competitive and enthusiastic, which provides our team with more depth than many teams at the 1A and 2A level.”
The ladies will begin their playoffs on Thursday, Oct. 30.
Moore believes the team’s record this season will give them a tough draw for the first round of the playoffs. For a look at playoff brackets, visit www.schsl.org.
