The Lamar Silver Foxes football team improved their record to 7-1 on the season on Friday night by defeating Hanna-Pamplico by a score of 14-12.
Lamar drew first blood scoring twice in the first half to take a 14-0 lead into the locker room at half-time. Hanna-Pamplico would answer in the second half, however. But the Silver Foxes prevented the extra points on both touchdowns giving them a two-point win.
Offensively, the Silver Foxes rolled behind a great performance from running back Jonathan Dargan.
Dargan carried the load with 181 yards on 36 carries and two trips to the end zone.
On defense, Ja'quavius McClain led the Silver Foxes again with 12 total tackles on the night. Chris Peoples followed McClain with nine total tackles, while BJ Goodson, Ja'quavius Peoples and Jerrod Dargan eached chipped in eight total tackles each.
The Silver Foxes have only one loss this season, which was in week zero to defending AAA state champion Cheraw. They are in the midst of a seven-game win streak and are currently 3-0 in region play. Lamar will host East Clarendon on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
