The Hartsville High School cross-country teams are running up an impressive record for the season despite an injury to top runner Brad Freeman.
After the region meet at Byerly Park on Tuesday, at which the boys’ team finished in second place, the boys’ team now has a record of 21-3 overall and 9-3 in region play.
The girls’ had some notable finishes in the meet; however, due to an illness to Jaclyn Warden, the girls did not have enough to compete as a team. Warden will be available for the region meet on Oct. 22.
For the boys, West Florence finished in first place, followed by Hartsville and South Florence.
Hartsville head coach Buster Freeman said Thursday the status of top boys’ team runner Brad Freeman is still uncertain, and he does not know if he will be able to run at the region meet in Sumter.
The Foxes will be in action again on Wednesday, Oct. 22 in Sumter. The meet will begin at 7:30 p.m.
