The Hartsville High School Band is continuing its success for the 2008-09 school year.

Bandmembers added another feather in their caps on Saturday, Oct. 11, as they earned another superior rating at the Beach Band Blast Tournament of Bands in Socastee.

The band also piled up the following awards: best marching, best drum line, best drum major and best color guard, according to band booster club member Bonnie Saleeby.

Hartsville also came home with a first-place finish in Division AAAA and Gold Champion Division, which includes divisions AAA and AAAA.

The band will be in action again on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Lake Marion High School in Santee for the Lower State Band Competition. The Red Regime will be taking a bus route through the city before departing for the tournament. At around 12 noon, the band will travel down Gandy Drive to Fifth Street. Band members and supporters encourage all city residents to line the streets to see the band off.

If the band finishes in sixth place or higher, they will advance to the state tournament.
