Lamar holds C.E. Murray scoreless

The Lamar Silver Foxes football team held C.E. Murray to only 3 first downs and 57 total yards during the two teams’ meeting on Friday night.

Lamar won by a score of 15-0.

Jonathan Dargan led the Silver Foxes’ offense with another 100-yard performance. Dargan had 116 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries averaging 7 yards per carry.

On the defensive side of the ball, Ja’quavius McClain led the Silver Foxes with 10 tackles. Graylyn Jefferson followed McClain with 8 tackles. Ja’quavius Peoples chipped in 5 tackles, including one tackle for loss and an interception.

Lamar improves its record to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in region play. They will travel to Summerton on Friday to face another region foe Scott’s Branch High School at 7:30 p.m.
