Coker women fall to King in homecoming match

The Coker womens' soccer team was shutout in their 2008 homecoming match versus King College, 5-0.

The Tornados used a strong backline and some aggressive forwards to post two goals in the first half and three in the second half.

With the win King improves to 7-6 on the year, while Coker falls to 3-6 overall.

Puo Koffman was the first to find the back of the net for the Tornados in the 12th minute of the game, with Sarah Dysarczyk netting King's second goal in the 40th minute.

Lauren Owens had the third goal of the game with an assist from Hannah Shankel in the 53rd minute, then Sara Ham had back-to-back goals with an assist from Koffman for the Tornados fourth and fifth goals.

Coker keeper, Chelsea Beetch had seven saves in the match, while King's aggressive play earned them 15 offsides calls.

The Lady Cobras return to the field on Tuesday, as they travel to Pfeiffer for a 4 p.m. match.
