Three teams go for spot in finals

Three Pee Dee tennis teams will look to gain a spot in the state tennis finals today.

Wilson, Johnsonville, Green Sea-Floyds will play in the lower state championships held at the Lexington Tennis Center.

The Tigers, who are making their first Class 3A lower state final appearance will face Hilton Head at 6 p.m. The winner will face the winner of the JL Mann/AC Flora match Saturday at noon.

Wilson advanced to the lower state final with a 4-3 win Tuesday over South Aiken.

The Flashes and Trojans will meet at today at 2 p.m. in the Class A lower state final. The winner will face either Christ Church or Landrum for the state championship

Johnsonville tennis isn’t the only team from the school hoping to win a state title this weekend. The Flashes volleyball team will play Landrum on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Class A volleyball championship.
