Travil Jamison rushed for three touchdowns, and William Ford and Anthony Campbell each added a pair of endzone runs as South Carolina State pummeled Howard 56-0.
The Bulldogs made the game one-sided early, scoring 42 points on six touchdowns by halftime. Seven of the team’s eight touchdowns came on the ground, with quarterback DeWain Clark adding a short touchdown pass in the second quarter.
South Carolina State (8-2, 6-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) netted 366 yards on the ground, with four players each rushing for at least 50 yards. Clark threw for another 175 yards on 11-of-14 passing.
Howard (1-8, 0-6) managed just 53 yards rushing and 94 yards passing. Quarterback Floyd Haigler was 13-of-22 passing with an interception. Haigler had a hard time unloading the ball, being sacked five times by the Bulldogs’ defense.
