Both the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Florence RedWolves could not find safety from the rain on the road last night. Both teams had their games rained out.
The Pelicans were supposed to have a noon first pitch at the Winston-Salem Warthogs. Due to rain, now the two teams will play a double header starting at 6pm on Thursday. The game was supposed to feature the return of Gorkys Hernandez. The centerfielder had been on the disabled list since April 23rd with a sore hamstring.
The RedWolves were supposed to begin their season on Wednesday night, but due to rain in Asheboro, their game with the Copperheads could not be played. Florence will open its season on Thursday night at home against the Columbia Blowfish.
