CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) _ Stan Widmann hit two homers and drove in five runs to help Clemson to a 12-6 win over the College of Charleston on Tuesday night.
The Tigers (27-25-1) scored seven runs in the second to jump out to a 9-0 lead.
Widmann, Matt Sanders and Mike Freeman each had two hits for Clemson, while Jeff Schaus had a two-run homer in the first.
Jeremie Tice hit two-run homers in both the eighth and ninth innings for the Cougars (34-18), who had the bases loaded when the game ended.
Tigers reliever Casey Harman (1-5) allowed one hit and struck out four in two innings to get the win.
Charleston starter Clay Caulfield (4-3) allowed four runs on four hits in an inning of work to pick up the loss.
Clemson's Atlantic Coast Conference season is over and the Tigers will need Duke to lose at least once in a three-game series with Virginia Tech to make sure they make the ACC tournament next week.
