CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) _ Clemson baseball player Kyle Parker has been named a freshman all-American.
The Tigers' first-year player joined Miami pitcher Chris Hernandez as Atlantic Coast Conference players chosen by Baseball America for its freshman first-team on Monday.
Parker hit over .300 with 14 homers and 50 RBIs this season. His runs driven in were second in the ACC, while his home runs tied for second. Parker is the first Clemson player selected for the team since Brad Chalk and Taylor Harbin were honored in 2005.
Parker is also a quarterback on Clemson's football team.
