FLORENCE — The Francis Marion’s women’s basketball team pick up its four Division I transfer.
Guard Robin Colbert (5-10) announced she owill transfer from Appalachian State University to FMU and join the Patriots this fall. Colbert played one season for the Mountaineers and will have three years of eligibility at Francis Marion.
This past season, she appeared in 27 games, starting 22 times, and averaged 4.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. She also blocked 10 shots and was second on the Mountaineers in assists.
Colbert’s father, Robert, is a former player with the New York Giants.
“Robin’s versatility at the guard spot is exactly what we need to elevate the program,” FMU coach Heather Macy said. “She is going to be an asset on offense and at the other end will be especially disruptive on defense. I’m excited to add her to our basketball family.”
