DARLINGTON – Car clubs that plan to attend the Inaugural Darlington Historic Racing Festival will receive a once in a lifetime incentive – a lap around the track “Too Tough to Tame,” track president Chris Browning announced today.

At the conclusion of each day, each car club will be led onto the historic track and will drive one parade lap on the same track that so many legendary drivers have raced on.

Additionally, each car club that attends the Inaugural Darlington Historic Racing Festival will receive a reserved infield-parking pass for each vehicle in the club and a reserved corral area adjacent to the vintage vehicle garage to display their clubs’ cars.

“The Inaugural Darling-ton Historic Racing Festival is definitely an event tailored to racing and car enthusiasts,” said Browning. “We had several car clubs inquire about bringing their member vehicles to this event and thought how great it would be to make the car corrals part of the event.”

The Darlington Historic Racing Festival will offer fans two days of excitement featuring question and answer sessions with the legends, exhibition laps by the historic race cars, autograph sessions, a large display and vendor area, car corrals and a variety of other activities.

Racing personalities who have already agreed to participate include legendary driver and car owner Junior Johnson, Daytona 500 winner Buddy Baker, three-time NASCAR Cup champion Darrell Waltrip, ten-time Darlington Raceway winner David Pearson, championship car owners Bud Moore and Cotton Owens.

Car clubs that wish to participate must purchase at least one ticket per vehicle and must have a minimum of ten vehicles. To add your car club to the growing number of participants, please call the Darlington Raceway ticket office at 843-395-8802.

Don’t miss your chance to see stock cars return to Darlington Raceway this Labor Day weekend, August 30-31, for the Inaugural Darlington Historic Racing Festival. Tickets for the event are $15 per day or $25 for the entire weekend, kids age 12 and under will be admitted free.

Camping is also available for this event, tent sites can be purchased for $10, RV spots are $25. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Darlington Raceway ticket office at 866-459-RACE or online at http://www.darlingtonraceway.com/tickets.
