DILLON — Jay Middleton took first place in Saturday’s “Seneca Tobaccoville USA 100 Race” at Dillon Motor Speedway.
The ASA Southeast RC Cola/Moonpie Series race was the track’s first nationally televised event, and will appear approximately 40 times between the channels of Fox Sports South, Speed, and Versus Channel. The first air date should be July 2 with another air date of July 9 on Fox Sports South.
A back-up car, a new racetrack, and hot and humid conditions could not slow the RC Cola/Moonpie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour points leader Middleton. However, the last several laps were a nose-to-tail battle between second-place finisher, Preston Peltier and Middleton. After a caution with eight laps to go, Peltier ensured his fate after spinning tires during the restart.
