COLUMBIA — Jamie Walczak drove in two runs and Kent Altman pitched six strong innings as the Florence RedWolves defeated Columbia 5-1 on Saturday.
Keon Graves added three hits as Florence improved to a league-best 11-3.
Altman, a Coastal Carolina standout, shined during his first start of the season. He struck out seven and allowed one earned run in six innings.
“He did exactly what we excpted him to do,” Florence coach Wes Davis said.
Keegan Linza took the loss for the Blowfish.
Florence is at Fayeteville for a noon game Monday.
