FLORENCE — Outside hitter Ashlyn Underhill of Pickens High School signed to a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Francis Marion.
Underhill was the Class 3A state Player of the Year following her senior year, and was selected to play in the North/South match. A three-year starter, she was a member of two state championship squads and one state runner-up team. She earned All-State honors in 2007 and was a two-time All-Region pick. She ended her career with totals of 661 kills, 199 blocks, 181 service aces, 326 digs, and an attack percentage of .298.
“Ashlyn will add a very dynamic game to the Patriot program,” FMU coach Paul McDonald said.
“She has a very scrappy defensive court attitude which will frustrate opposing attackers.”
