The all-stars from Hartsville Northern League have braved the sweltering heat to play for a shot at the World Series.

Byerly Park is the site for this year’s Dixie Youth Minor League State Tournament. Teams from all over South Carolina have descended upon Hartsville for the weeklong tournament.

The all-stars from the Hartsville Northern League have performed well thus far in the double-elimination tournament as representatives of the City of Hartsville. They defeated Pickens Saturday night by a score of 9-4.

They followed that victory with another win over Lexington 12-5 on Sunday night. The team was dealt its first loss on Monday night as they lost to Lancaster 6-3.

They faced Surfside Thursday night in an elimination game and defeated them 12-2 in four and one half innings. They play tonight at 6 p.m.
