The Pelicans 10th Anniversary Team unveiling ceremony, originally scheduled for 6:35 PM on Friday, will be held on the field at BB&T Coastal Field in between the two games of Friday’s doubleheader. The ceremony will feature video messages from many of the 14 players selected for the ceremonial team.
Fans holding tickets for Thursday’s scheduled game can redeem them at the BB&T Coastal Field Box Office for tickets of equal or lesser value for any remaining regular season 2008 home game. Tickets cannot be redeemed for Pelicans’ post-season tickets.
Myrtle Beach had not been rained out since July 14th, 2007 when a drainage problem caused by substantial flooding forced the postponement of a scheduled game against the Winston-Salem Warthogs. The Pelicans were the last team in the Carolina League to have their first game postponed at home this season.
