Kinard Gadsden-Gilliard has reached a crossroads in his life. By the end of this month, he'll know whether he'll play basketball at the next level, or football. It's a tough decision - but one that he feels is out of his hands.
Gadsden-Gilliard is going to meet with the staff at the University of Georgia on July 18th to see whether or not they'll extend a football offer. If he doesn't receive one by the end of the month, KGG is not going to return to Georgetown in the fall. He's going to attend a prep school instead (probably Fork Union Military Academy), and focus his attention on basketball. He's been playing hoops all summer with an AAU team based out of Georgia. He's been leading the team this week at the Big Shots Alantic Slam AAU Tournament this week on the Grand Slam.
Gadsden-Gilliard says schools other than Georgia have expressed some interest in his football talents. USC, Clemson, Duke, and Tennessee have all talked to him, but none of extended offers. KGG plays tight end and defensive end, but UGA is looking at him exclusively on offense.
The Georgetown product says it doesn't matter to him which sport he winds up playing. He grew up wanting to play basketball, and over time has come to love football. Gadsden-Gilliard says it which ever sport gets him to play at the next level is the one he'll like the most.
