Clemson coach Tommy Bowden announced Monday that DeAndre McDaniel, the sophomore safety charged with assault of a high and aggravated nature on his girlfriend, will be allowed to practice with the team.
Bowden released the following statement:
"We continue to review information concerning this case, and I want to be clear that I take these charges against DeAndre McDaniel seriously.
"DeAndre remains a Clemson student, and I will allow him to be an active member of the football team at this time. We will continue to monitor the legal process as it develops. His status for our regular season competition is yet to be determined."
McDaniel is not expected to face trial for a minimum of another six months.
