For the second straight year USC will be looking for a new assistant baseball coach, as Monte Lee has accepted the head coaching position at the College of Charleston.
Reports coming out of the low country indicate Lee will return to his alma mater to assume the position left open when John Pawlowski left for Auburn on June 20th.
Lee’s tenure lasted six years with the Gamecocks program, five of which was spent as a part time assistant coach and camp coordinator. When Jim Toman left to take over the head coaching role at Liberty University, Lee became the top assistant. In the role he also served as South Carolina’s recruiting coordinator.
