COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ Athletes at the U.S. Olympic Team track and field trials, including several from South Carolina, are getting a break from intense pressures and hot temperatures.

Events will resume Thursday in Eugene, Ore. after a two-day break.

Jason Richardson, the NCAA's 110-meter hurdle champion, will compete in that event starting Saturday. The 110-meter hurdles final Sunday could include former Gamecock track start Terrence Trammell.

In the trials first weekend, Clemson sprinter Travis Padgett finished fourth in the 100 meters. South Carolina freshman Johnny Dutch ended up fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.
