Coastal Carolina will be without their second leading scorer Everage Richardson for an unknown amount of time. The senior underwent emergency appendectomy surgery at Conway Medical Center on Friday.
Since Forward Joseph Harris went down for the season with a thumb injury, Richardson had stepped up his game. The Brooklyn, New York native scored a career high 27 points twice and is averaging 13.8 points a game.
According to Coastal Carolina Sports Information Director John Martin,” Everage is doing fine.” Martin also added, “It surprised us, we had the game plan in place and then all of a sudden, he’s out.”
The Chanticleers struggled without the guard in a 65-43 loss in Rock Hill to Big South rival Winthrop today.
Richardson is set to be released from the hospital tomorrow.
