It took the Coastal men two and a half months to win their first road game of the year. They will have to wait longer to earn their second, after a 78-59 pasting at Liberty.
Phil Wallace put the Chants within three just a few minutes into the second half. But back-to-back threes put the Flames up nine, and they did not look back. Wallace had 13 points, while Everage Richardson poured in 14 and Logan Johnson added 12. Leading scorer Jack Leasure had just one field goal and finished with four points.
Alex McLean lead the Flames with 23 points. Liberty went 12-25 from beyond the arc and shot 53% for the game. The Chants shot just 39%.
Both teams are now 2-2 in the Big South. Coastal is off until Saturday when they play Winthrop at 7pm.
