FLORENCE — Freshman Leah Bagonis and Rachel Fuller each scored goals to lead East Carolina to a 2-0 win over Francis Marion on Sunday in women’s soccer action, ending the Patriots’ home unbeaten streak at 14 matches.

ECU improves to 2-0, while FMU drops to 0-2. The Patriots return to action on Friday at 4 p.m. when they host Wake Forest.

Francis Marion had won its last 10 home matches and was 11-0-3 dating back to a 3-1 loss to UNC Asheville on Oct. 18, 2005. The Patriots’ all-time home record is 88-17-5.

After a scoreless first half that featured a combined seven shots, Bagonis took a pass from Jessica Woodward and fired a long 20-yard shot toward the goal. FMU goalkeeper Emily Brandenburg made a diving attempt, but the ball bounced over her outstretch arm and into the net.

Fuller completed the scoring with a 5-yard shot into an open net with 2:11 remaining in the contest.
