Jamarcus Grant has waited patiently over three years to get a chance at Clemson. Now as the Tigers enter their most anticipated season in a decade, the Mullins product will be leaned on heavily to the bring the Tigers to the ACC Title game.
Grant is slated to start at right guard for the Tigers. He is one of four new starters around center Thomas Austin. None of the players on the first team are seniors - they are four juniors and one sophomore.
The former Auctioneer redshirted his freshman year in 2005. His freshman year, he was ravaged by a foot injury. Grant played sparingly his sophomore year, and overall has seen parts of 13 games for the Tigers, but he has never made a start.
"I'm definitely ready," says Grant. "I feel like this year is it. I feel like I've put a lot of work in the past three years and I feel like now is the time to display my talent. I got to take some home for the Pee Dee area. Mullins, South Carolina, you know we comin'."
Coach Tommy Bowden has said that the biggest question for this year's team will be at offensive line. Grant is hoping to provide an answer at right guard.
