MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Sam Heeps tossed a complete-game shutout and got plenty of support from his offense as Martinsville blanked Florence 13-0 on Saturday in Coastal Plain League action.
Heeps allowed just six hits, struck out 14 and didn’t walk a batter in the win.
Five different Martinsville players, led by Thomas Sappelt and Bucky Smith, drove in two runs each.
Bobby Doran took the loss for Florence, allowing four earned runs on seven hits in five innings. Jamie Walczak led the RedWolves (33-19) with two hits.
