WILMINGTON, N.C. — A night after managing just one run in a doubleheader sweep, the Florence Redwolves' bats came alive.
Florence pounded out 15 hits and overcame a sloppy defensive performance to defeat Wilmington 9-6 on Friday.
“Last night was one of those nights and they took it upon themselves to make adjustments,” Florence coach Wes Davis said. “And our bats really woke up.”
The Redwolves committed four errors in the victory.
Catcher Myckie Lugbauer had two hits, including a two-run homer in the game.
Jamie Walczak led Florence with three hits. Blake Walker, Keon Graves, Barrett Kleinknecht and Andrew Guerra each added two hits.
Andre Benjamin (5-2) picked up the win in relief, allowing one earned run and two hits in an inning of work.

Florence is at Martinsville tonight.
