CONWAY (AP) _ Coastal Carolina has lost its leading rebounder, forward Joseph Harris, for the season with a torn ligament in his left thumb.
Harris, a 6-foot-5 junior, suffered the injury in the second half of Coastal Carolina's 80-68 defeat at North Carolina Wilmington on Sunday. Harris led the team averaging nearly eight rebounds a game and was third in the Big South Conference.
The school says the thumb will need surgery and that Harris will be eligible for a medical redshirt season and retain two years of eligibility.
