The undefeated Lake City High School varsity baseball team will travel to Myrtle Beach on Thursday and play host to the Seahakws on Friday at 6 p.m.
The team took two wins over South Florence and Socastee last week to remain perfect on the season at 8-0 overall and 2-0 in Region VII-3A.
Senior Reggie Weatherford struck out 10 Socastee hitters, including the last two hitters of the game with the tying runs on base, and scattered seven hits in a 7-5 win over the Braves. He also stayed red hot at the plate with a three-for-four night, including two home runs and three runs batted in. Zack Holt also blasted a two-run homer to dead centerfield.
Earlier in the week, sophomore Shon Carson threw a complete game shutout with eight strikeouts and hit a two-run bomb to lead Lake City to a 3-0 victory on the road at South Florence.
Weatherford and Elliott Braxton each doubled and Shonquez Nelson added an RBI for the Panthers.
