The Lake City High School Varsity Panthers will open the 2009 football season on Friday.
The team will travel to Tabor City, N.C., to face South Columbus High School, according to Florence School District 3 Communications Coordinator Brian Huckabee.
The Panthers defeated Summerville 43-38 in a preseason football scrimmage Aug. 11 at Ward Memorial Stadium in Lake City.
