Local junior golfers win in Dillon

The South Carolina Junior Golf Association’s Pee Dee Chapter of the Hootie & the Blowfish Summer Tour competed at Twin Lakes Golf Club in Dillon on July 8.

Kristen Evans of Scranton scored a 92 for a first-place win over Brook Kirkland of Mullins and Madison Clary of Florence. This makes Evans’ third first-place finish this summer.

John Lurie Pate of Coward scored a four-over-par 75 to place first in his age division.

Ryan Parrott of Lake City scored a four-over-par 75 to place second over Twin Lakes’ Townsend Hamilton, who scored an even par 71. This was Parrott’s fourth second-place finish. Parrott has had three first-place wins this summer.

Noah Dangerfield of Coward won his fifth straight first-place finish by scoring a nine-hole 45.

The tournament was conducted by South Carolina Junior Golf Association interns Joye Altman of Lake City and Ryan Tisdale of Kingstree along with chapter director Joe Woodbury of Lake City.
