Lake City defeats St. James 55-0 in homecoming game

Lake City running back Shon Carson carried the ball only eight times, but rushed for 206 yards, four touchdowns and a two-point conversion as the Panthers rolled over the St. James Sharks 55-0 in a Region VII-3A matchup Friday night.
Lake City racked up 417 yards of total offense, with all but five yards coming on the ground. The Panthers’ “Blue D” defense held St. James to only 62 total yards of offense.
Carson scored on each of his first three carries on runs of 55, 28 and 63 yards and added his fourth score on a 31-yard run in the second period.
Quarterback DaShawn Butler scored twice in the second quarter on runs of 28 and 46 yards.
Sheldon Robinson also scored in the third quarter on a 19-yard run, and Antonio Bryant finished the Panthers’ scoring with a 44-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter.
Butler finished the night with 79 yards on three carries and Bryant rushed for 56 yards on four carries.
Lake City will travel Friday to North Myrtle Beach for another region game.
