DETROIT — Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth returned to play Sunday in the second half against the Detroit Lions after being carted off the field with a hip injury.
Haynesworth kept weight off his right leg when he was helped up off the turf and his head was covered with a towel as he was taken toward the locker room midway through the second quarter.
He signed a seven-year contract worth $100 million — including $41 million guaranteed — in the offseason after playing for the Tennessee Titans.
