Ambler leads Cobras to 85-73 non-conference win

Mason Ambler’s double-double led the Coker Cobras to a 85-73 win over Florida Christian in a non-conference men’s collegiate basketball game on Monday night.

Ambler had 19 points and 15 rebounds to pace the Cobras, including shooting 90 percent from the charity stripe.

Also scoring in double figures for the Cobras were Vatrick Thompson with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Josh Poston had 12 points and four assists.

Leading the Florida Christian Suns was Dave Thomas with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Shane Smarr had 11 points and Joseph Lopez had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Coker will now break for the holidays, returning to action on Jan. 5, when they travel to Mount Olive College for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The Cobras will return home on Jan. 8, when they play host to conference foe St. Andrews.

Florida Christian faced Francis Marion University Tuesday night.
