Wallace test drives at Dillon Speedway

The U.S. Border Patrol crew recently assembled a new race car and wanted to give the car a test and tune. Because of the track’s proximity to Charlotte and because the track is privately owned, Dillon Motor Speedway was a fine prospect to test the race car.

Dillon Motor Speedway received a surprise when Kenny Wallace’s Nationwide Series race car hauler made its way into the infield on Monday morning. Wallace currently drives the No. 28 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, sponsored by the U.S. Border Patrol within the Nationwide Series. Wallace is the younger brother of Sprint-Cup racing legend and now NASCAR commentator, Rusty Wallace.

More excitement and surprises are waiting at Dillon Motor Speedway for the Seneca Fall Spectacular 300 this weekend, Oct. 17-19. This racing event will conclude the 2008 track points championship. By Sunday evening, there will be a new champion within each racing division at Dillon Motor Speedway including the Seneca Super Trucks, DMS Late Models, Palmetto Auto Auction Chargers, NAPA Street Stocks, and Missy’s Four-Cylinders.

Beginning Friday afternoon, race teams from all over the eastern seaboard will arrive for a practice session. Then, race teams will be able to practice again and qualify for starting positions on Saturday. Grandstand admission is free for all events on Friday and Saturday. Finally, you will hear the roaring engines of racing during the Seneca Fall Spectacular 300 on Sunday afternoon at Dillon Motor Speedway. Grandstands will open at noon,  with racing beginning at 2 pm.
