With record race car and pit entries, the Seneca Fall Spectacular 300 was the perfect race to end the season to determine the new Dillon Motor Speedway Track Champions from each racing division. The Seneca Fall Spectacular was a phenomenal weekend filled with excitement, appreciation, and entertainment for race teams and race fans. The weekend began with an open practice and hauler parking on Friday.
Saturday events alluded to more practice sessions and qualifying time trials. After the conclusion of qualifying for the Seneca Fall Spectacular 300, Dillon Motor Speedway honored its racing teams with its second annual, Racer Appreciation Dinner. The crew from Missy’s One-Stop/Missy’s Gifts prepared barbecue, chicken bog and barbecue chicken dinners, and served the race teams. A special “thank you” goes to Missy’s One-Stop/Missy’s Gifts, Perdue Farms, Pepsi and Montone Trailers from Dillon Motor Speedway for making the second Racer Appreciation Dinner a huge success.
With racing season coming to a close and the points championship on the line, there was indeed some of the most competitive, side-by-side racing that occurred all year during Sunday’s Seneca Fall Spectacular. Also, as if the racing was not exciting enough, Seneca provided extra incentives to both the racers and the fans.
Hal Goodson was offered a $1,000 bonus from Seneca if he won the race, provided he forfeit his pole position to start at the rear of the field. Goodson won the bonus money. Seneca even added a little extra money to the 50-50 drawing winnings to make it more interesting and entertaining to the winning ticket holders. This was also very useful to the March of Dimes because Dillon Motor Speedway donated its half of the 50-50 entries to the March of Dimes.
Eagerness and determination rode along in the race car with these drivers giving fans enough reason to stay out of their seats for most of the afternoon. Listed below are the racing results from the Seneca Fall Spectacular 300 and 2008 DMS Points Championship results per racing division:
