DOVER, Dela. – Jody Lavender qualified 28th in the NASCAR Camping World East Series race at the Dover Speedway, but when the checkered flag fell, he had finished eighth and won the Powerade Power Move of the race for improving the most positions in the race.

He improved 18 positions from the last race at New Hampshire where he finished 26th. He also moved to 11th in the point standings and is only 30 points out of the top-ten with one race remaining.

After the race Lavender said, “We spent two hours in practice Friday and nothing we changed made any difference. On Saturday morning, we started over and changed the car to what we thought was better, and we were still 28th fastest. When the race started, we made five or six pit stops for adjustments and made the car a little better, especially on long runs. We didn’t have anything for the cars that finished ahead of us, and we’re satisfied with finishing eighth after all the problems we had.”

The final race of the season is at Stafford, Conn., on Sunday, Sept. 29. “We’ll be there and do the best we can to be at the front,” Lavender said of the season’s final race.
