FLORENCE — Florence Phantoms defensive end/linebacker Cory Groover was arrested last Wednesday for criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
The charge stems from an incident at a local nightclub a few weeks ago. Groover, a former Hannah-Pamplico High School and Clemson star, turned himself in to authorities and was bonded out two hours later.
Groover was arrested on a bench warrant last year but he said during a phone interview Tuesday night the charges have long since been resolved.
When the two-time American Indoor Football Association All-Star was asked whether or not this case can also be resolved, Groover had just one reply.
“Yes,” he said.
Groover declined comment about his status for Saturday night’s home game against Columbus.
