Reading holds off Phantoms
The Reading Express got a little payback against the Florence Phantoms. The Express, who lost to the Phantoms in last year’s conference finals, got their revenge with a 66-55 win over Florence on Friday night at the Florence Civic center. The loss snapped Florence’s six-game winning streak.

Reggie Eubanks is starting to get settled. The first-year receiver for the Florence Phantoms is getting comfortable with his new city and team and it’s starting to show on the field. Eubanks, 5-foot-10, 190 pounds, is second on the team with 15 catches for 244 yards going into tonight’s game at South Carolina.

Fayetteville’s Zimmerman gets to play close to home

Phantoms’ Grrover arrested
Florence Phantoms defensive end/linebacker Cory Groover was arrested last Wednesday for criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. The charge stems from an incident at a local nightclub a few weeks ago. Groover, a former Hannah-Pamplico High School and Clemson star, turned himself in to authorities and was bonded out two hours later.

AIFA adds two more franchises
The American Indoor Football Association has awarded expansion franchises to two teams in Utah. Ogden and Orem, Utah are the newest cities to be introduced to indoor football. The teams are approximately 80 miles apart and will compete next season.
