RedWolves give Legion Field a facelift

The RedWolves have increased attendance in each of the last seven seasons, but they’re not standing pat for 2008.  The team has totally revamped their home Legion Field to help better enhance the fan experience.

The biggest change inside the foul lines is the height of the right field wall.  The team double the wall, to make what GM Jamie Young hopes will be like a reverse “Green Monster”.  Before the higher wall it was wide open behind right field, and left-handed batters could easily crush home runs with the wind to right field.

In addition, the team has made a bar/eatery area in the foul territory of right field.  This structure takes up most of the area in foul territory and gives fans a chance to eat, drink, be merry and watch the game all underneath a covered roof.

In addition, there will be stools behind the wall in right field that gives prime seating to watch the action.  It could also give prime seating for a line drive to the face, so fans beware. 

That’s not all - there’s new fencing, newly painted stands, revamped dugouts - it’s all to help continue to give Florence fans a chance to enjoy Carolina Plain League Baseball over the summer. 

The team reports to Florence on Memorial Day, and have their first home game on May 29th.
