FLORENCE — Down seven runs in the fourth inning, the Florence RedWolves made a spirited comeback.
Unfortunately, it fell just short. Trailing 10-5 in the bottom of the ninth, Florence plated three runs but fell 10-8 to Wilmington at Legion Field.
With two men on base, Barrett Kleinknecht, who finished 4-for-5 with an RBI to lead Florence, grounded to third to end the game.
Michael Rudman got the win for the Sharks, allowing two earned runs in five innings. L.A. Owens suffered the loss, giving up eight earned runs in three-plus innings.
