Let the Pelicans’ party begin

The Carolina & California League All-Stars get introduced at the pre-party gala at Hard Rock Park.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans welcome the top players and team personnel from the two different leagues Tuesday, as the Carolina/California League All-Star festivies continue at BB&T Coastal Field.
Monday, Hard Rock Park hosted the All-Star gala. All of the players were introduced and given a golden putter commemorating their selection. Friends, family, coaches and team personnel also enjoyed drinks, dinner and music.

4-4:30 p.m.: California League autographs on the concourse
4-4:45 p.m.: Carolina League batting practice
4:45-5:30 p.m.: California League batting practice
5-5:30 p.m.: Carolina League autographs on the concourse
5:30-6:10 p.m.: Home run derby
7:30 p.m.: First pitch

Rain pushed back the starting time, but did not dampen the good time.
Meanwhile, BB&T Coastal Field has been dolled up in preparation for the big event.
The field has been manicured, bunting has been raised to the walls, and an All-Star game logo has been painted behind home plate.
Senior Director of Sports Turf Management Chris “Butter” Ball is excited to “show-off his wares” to the rest of the two leagues.
The Southern Division first half-winning Pelicans have a Carolina League-high six players on the team.
SS Brandon Hicks and DH Ernesto Mejia will both start. 2B Travis Jones, RHP Kyle Cofield, RHP Ryne Reynoso and LHP Brian Dumesnil will all come off the bench.
The first pitch for the Carolina/California League All-Star game is 7:30pm on Tuesday night.
Gates open at 3:30 for batting practice, autographs and a home run derby.
