Felton to throw out first pitch for Pelicans

MYRTLE BEACH —Charlotte Bobcats guard Raymond Felton will be on hand to throw out the first pitch of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans’ second game of a three game series with the Potomac Nationals tongiht at BB&T Coastal Field.

Felton, the former North Carolina star and member of the Tar Heels’ 2005 NCAA national championship team, was drafted by the Bobcats with the fifth overall pick of that year’s NBA Draft. Last season, Felton established new career highs in rebounds per game (3.8) and steals per game (1.5) while averaging 14.2 points and 6.7 assists per contest.

The 25-year-old Felton grew up just an hour northwest of Myrtle Beach in Latta. Coming out of Latta High School in 2002, he was the top-ranked point guard in the nation according to Rivals.com.
