Pelicans can’t sweep Potomac
The Nationals used a gigantic home crowd to keep the Pelicans from sweeping them on Independence Day. Over 7,000 people watched Potomac topple Myrtle Beach 6-3. The Birds now head home, for Mike Hampton’s rehab start on Saturday.
Pelicans bat around Nats
An early home run by Willie Cabrera and then a late jack by Travis Jones keyed the Pelicans to an 8-3 victory over Potomac on Thursday night.

Cameron’s heroics save day for RedWolves
After three straight home losses, the Florence RedWolves looked to give the fans at Legion Field a long overdue victory before they took their Fourth of July break when Wilmington came to town.

Tobs blank RedWolves
Wilson’s Tim Adelman pitched eight shutout innings as the Tobs handed the Florence RedWolves a 7-0 defeat on Wednesday.
Cody Hawn led the Tobs (2-0 second half, 14-15 overall) with two hits and two RBI, while Matt Sanders added two hits.
Late runs push Keys in win over Pelicans
For the first time in nine games the Keys were able to put up crucial late inning runs to solidify a victory over the Pelicans 10-7.

RedWolves end first half of season with victory
The Florence RedWolves finished their first half of the season in style.
The RedWolves used a four-run second inning to defeat Columbia 6-3 on Monday.
Florence, which clinched the South Division last week, finishes the first half with a 20-7 record.

Pelicans put brakes on skid
Eric Campbell set the pace with a solo homer run in the first inning and the Pelicans would add on eleven more runs in the 12-6 win over Potomac. The win snaps a Myrtle Beach four game losing streak.

Wilmington whips RedWolves
If any place has been unkind to the Florence RedWolves this season, it’s the road. That was the case Friday night, where Wilmington had a pair of three-run innings and took advantage of four Florence errors to beat the RedWolves 11-3.
Pelicans Lose it Late
Another crowd of over 5,000 gathered at BB&T Coastal Field on the heels of the California vs. Carolina league All-Star Game. The third largest regular season crowd in franchise history witnessed Potomac posting three runs in the seventh inning pacing them to the win.

Pitts stops RedWolves
Bobby Doran was good for the Florence RedWolves on Wednesday night. Forest City’s Chris Pitts was just as good —better, actually, for the first five innings — and he’s the one who got a little bit of offensive help in the Owls’ 3-0 win at American Legion Stadium.

Late rally lifts Carolina over California
There was standing room only for the All-Star battle between the California and Carolina Leagues at B&BT Coastal Field. A crowd of 6,599 witnessed an Edgardo Baez solo homer run in the bottom of the eighth inning that was the difference maker in the 3-1 Carolina League victory.

Less than 24 hours after clinching a division title, the Florence RedWolves didn’t miss a beat.

Big inning dooms Pelicans
Giving up seven runs is not good for an entire game. So giving up seven runs in one inning is pretty awful. The Pelicans surrendered the touchdown plus the extra point in the bottom of the sixth, in an 11-2 beatdown to the Hillcats.
