PREP TENNIS: Browning sets record as Knights win region title

FLORENCE — Bobby Browning beat Brendan Nagle 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and set a West Florence High School record for most victories in leading the Knights to a 5-2 victory on Monday over Carolina Forest in tennis.

The victory also wrapped up the Region 6-4A championship, the eighth straight year West has won that title.

Browning, who now has 105 career wins against just nine losses in six years, surpassed Mitch Sprengelmeyer and Pruitt Williams.

West won four of five singles matches against Carolina Forest and split two doubles matches.

Camden 6, Darlington 1

CAMDEN — Region champion Camden won all five singles matches in beating Darlington.

The Falcons’ lone victory came at No. 2 doubles, where William Jordan and Zachary Ward defeated Hunt Jones and Luke Harding 8-4 in a pro set.

The Falcons finished second in Region 6-3A.
