Flashes and Tigers share wins

Track Slide ShowJOHNSONVILLE - The Lady Flash track team swept away all competition to take the regional track meet at home Wednesday April 29, 2009. Their score of 263 was about triple the score of second place Latta and quadruple third place Carvers Bay.
The Tiger boys team from Hemingway were victorious, with 158 points over second place Green Sea-Floyd, whose team took 120 points. The six-school meet also included Creek Bridge High School. The Johnsonville boys team came in third with 110 points.
Johnsonville girls took three team relays, the 100 meter, the 400 meter and the 800 meter.
In individual events, the Lady Flashes also took most of them, including: pole vault - London Barnhill, first with 8’ and Christina Pajaro, second with 7’6”; long jump - Keyarah Turner, first with 15’11” and Tavonah McCray with 14’7 1/2”; triple jump - Keyarah Turner, first with 31’7 1/2”, and London Barnhill, second with 29’6”; high jump - Keyarah Turner, first with 4’8”; 100-meter hurdles - Quintella Dollard first with 16.50; shot put - Lakera Woodbury first with 32’8” and KC McKee second with 31’9”; discus - KC McKee first with 105’10 1/2” and Lakera Woodbury second with 95’10 1/2”; 1600 meter race - Mallory Foshee first with 6.36; 400 meter race - Keyarah Turner second with 1:04.84; 400 meter hurdle - Quintella Dollard first with 1:09.88; 800 meter race - Latima Hannah first with 2:38.25 and Deatria Crayton with 2:47.22; 200 meter race - Allison Rorvell with 27.54; 3200 meter race with Mallory Foshee second with 14:53.
Carvers Bay Lady Bears team took second in the 400 meter relay; Jasmine Washington took second in the 100 meter dash with 1:02.28; Urania Dennison in the 400 meter hurdles with 1:13.38; and Amber Berry took second in the 100 meter hurdle.
The Lady Tiger Lisa Davis got second place in the 200 meter race with 27.64.
The Tiger boys team took the 100 meter, the 400 meter,and the 800 meter relays. In individual events the Tigers had: 100 meter hurdle - Antonio Mitchum first with 15.22; high jump - Rashawn Smalls first with 6’6” and Jazjuan Wilson second with 6’4”; triple jump - Antonio Nesmith second with 40’11”; 100 meter race - Antonio Mitchum second with 11.28; 1600 meter race - Suntrell Flagler with 5:12; 400 meter race - Antonio Nesmith first with 53.22, ; 800 meter race - Jazjuan Wilson first with 2:17.06; and 200 meter race - Rodrick Braddy with 22.78.
The Carvers Bay boys took second on the 400 meter relay, and Kwame Geathers took first in shot put and discus with 47’6” and 123’10 1/4” respectively; Andre Akline on discus second with 120’10 1/2” and Kenya Beckman on the long jump second with 20’6”.
Flash pole vaulters Jackson Haselden and Josh Gagliano took first and second places with 10’6”, Matthew Venters took second on the 3200 meter race with 11:50; and Jazz Burgess earned a second place on the 100 meter hurdles with 15.97 and the 400 meter hurdles with 1:01.41.
